Preliminary Task
In today's lesson we had a task to do. This task was to create a short film about something simple such as having a conversation with one person to another. We had to do the preliminary task, to show our skills and that we are capable of filming and editing. My group consisted of Me, Cameron Roberts and Jamal Asher. The three of us used filming techniques in our films like the 180 degree rule which meant during a conversations we would only start in one half when filming, we did this because it looked more effective than if the camera shots were all over the place. Match on action was another type of shot/technique we used so everything flowed nicely. Match on action is when for example a cup is being pured in the background and then the shot type changes, the amount of liquid been poured in the cup is the same as before. Another technique we used was shot, reverse shot which is when we filmed from one person speaking to another from perhaps an over the shoulder shot. This gives a great point of view of both actors. We had to consider miss en scene when filming because we wanted everything in the shot to be their for a reason.
